NOMINATIONS NEEDED FOR USNA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
It is time to submit nominations for the USNA Board positions of President-elect and Secretary for the 2008-2009 year. To be eligible for nomination you must be an active member of USNA and currently working in the field of school nursing. Each elected office, except President-elect, is held for a period of two (2) years and no more than 2 terms (4 years). President-elect is held for a period of 3 years. One year as President-elect, one year as President, and one year as Past-president.
Duties of the officers are as follows:
President-elect: Serve as a member of the Board of Directors and work closely with the President and Board of Directors. Preside at all meetings in the absence of the President. Automatically take office a President at the expiration of the President’s term. As President, preside at all meetings of USNA and the meetings of the Board of Directors. As Past-president, serve as consultant and member of the Board of Directors.
Secretary: Secretary serves for 2 years. This person will keep records of all proceedings of the USNA and of the Board of Directors and have custody of all records and papers belonging to the USNA. After each board meeting send a copy of minutes to each board member.
Newly elected officers shall assume their positions in July of the year in which they were elected. They will serve with outgoing officers from elections to July 1. Being involved in USNA as a member of the board is a very rewarding experience. Not only do you get to know other school nurses by being on the Board, but you also learn about different aspects of school nursing in our state. The networking is fantastic!!!!
Please consider nominating nurses who you feel could add to the organization in some capacity. Nominate another nurse that you admire or consider nominating yourself!! Be sure to inform the nominee of your nomination of them, and receive their acceptance before filling out the nomination form. The nomination form is included in this newsletter.
