"The mission of the Utah School Nurses Association is to protect and improve the health and safety of children and families by supporting comprehensive school health nursing services. These programs provide prevention, detection and resolution of health concerns, thereby improving educational achievement and enhancing the quality of life."

"School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning."
This definition was adopted at the NASN Board of Directors meeting in Providence, Rhode Island in June 1999.

USNA Regions
We are excited to announce organizations of regions. This does not change the State Board of USNA. It provides a means of communication to and from each of our nurses and a way to work together on government relations.
